Ducks in a row

Someone needs to kick me in the butt to get me going! Ever since the holiday break I have not been motivated to get things done around the house. I have a list a mile long and it keeps getting longer. I think....okay I know that I enjoyed the break way too much and need to get back to reality!! I need to get more organized only to make life easier. I am not one who has to have things perfectly organized, but like to have all the ducks in a row and now that they are a bit out of order I am struggling to put them back in order.

Back to reality!

It is hard to believe that school starts again tomorrow!! That means no more lazy morning where we don't have to set the alarm clock, get dress right away....that sucks!! I have really enjoyed the break this year and not looking forward to getting up and going in the morning.
Our days are just busy!!
Jay works at Midas in which he gets up at 3am and does not get home until about 7pm. Granted he only works 14 days out of the month, but still makes for a long day when you have to work shift work and work long hours. He is an underground electrian and has been at the Midas location for about a year now. The other 2 1/2 years he work at Lonetree as a control room operator.
Ashlynn goes to kindergarten in the morning so our days start off about 6am and most nights we are not getting home until about 6pm. She has dance two days a week and I hope to get her involved in Girl Scouts here soon. She is a social bug and loves to play with her friends, but in the end loves to be home at night with Jay and I.
On top of being a mom and wife, I sub at the schools here in BM. It took me a couple of years to get my certification after we moved back, but after doing it for a year now, I love it!! Each week is different but most weeks I sub about 3-4 days and then close the scrapbook store. If I am no subbing I work the scrapbook store to give Kat a break on opening.
My sister in law opened a scrapbook store here in mid October, Endless Memories. We have received a lot of complements and hope to involved those of all ages and skill levels. It has been great joy...scrapbooking as a job!! The store keeps me busy with my title as the "manager." Between Kat and I we work it 6 days a week and then other family members help out as they can. If Jay is off, we make sure Ash is home with her dad and not working late with me. My brother and Kat are working on our online site which will be open soon. I will have to keep everyone posted! I am always looking for new ideas, feel free to pass them along to me if you would like to share them!! My email address at the store is jimi@endlessmemeoriesonline.net.
Even with our busy days it is nice to be a family!

Jay W. Newkirk

That's my husband who I have been married to for 10 years in June. I never thought I would meet the man I would marry my second semester of college. I was ready to go to college, get a college education and see what it really is to be on my own. But there are things in life that we are not in control of. For those of you who know me, I am not a religious person, but I do believe that things happen in life for a reason.
After meeting in English 101 at CSI on Jan. 11, 1997, (I can tell you what Jay was wearing that day!) we got our own place together in Twin Falls after only 6 months. Even though we rented our first apartment at the 6 month marked, we basically lived together at his place at only two weeks! I know, not like me! Dating for 14 months Jay asked me to marry him on April 10, 1997....we had picked out the ring a few months (maybe less than that) before he popped the question. 14 months later we were married at Rock Creek Park in Twin Falls.
After we were married, we decided to move to Pocatello to finish our education where Jay entered the ISU Law Enforcement Program and I worked on my BA in Sociology. We lived on campus and enjoyed our tiny apartment as a newlywed couple!! I liked living on campus, but Jay got tired of it very fast!
When I met Jay, he was a music major at CSI starting his second year of college. Jay is fromWeiser, Idaho and an only child who lived out in the country on highway 95. He had a wonderful bringing up and was enjoying the college life to the FULLEST!!

It's time for bed....more to come later!! Sweet Dreams!!

Me, a blogger?

I love the idea that I can keep up on others' excitement by reading their blogs and not have to spend hours playing phone tag! (My husband would disagree about me spending hours on my cell phone!) There just is not enough time in the day to keep up with those that I love or try to get back in touch with those I have lost touch with over the years. I am wondering if I am a blogger? Can I create a blog that people would want to come back to again and again? I hope so.
